Hey guys! I’m back in the reading game! At least for now. Hopefully I can keep it going for the rest of the year. I’m so happy to be reading books again. I hadn’t realized how much I missed it until I looked at my reading goal and discovered I had only read 20 books last year…Disappointing doesn’t even begin to describe how I feel about that.
Anyways, as you can tell from the title of this post I have decided to challenge myself and read this monster of a book. I was at Goodwill a few days ago not looking for books at all, but of course ended up in that section eventually. I came across this book which I recently put on my TBR on Goodreads. What I hadn’t realized was just how massive this book was.
The title of the book is A Suitable Boy by Vikram Seth. This masterpiece is said to be a Modern Classic with love, drama, humor, sadness, etc. Literally every possible emotion you could ever have all wrapped up in a book. I wanted to make it a goal of mine this year to read more books by Indian authors and this definitely is one of them I want to get to even if it takes me all year long. In short this book is about a family saga which involves a girl named Lata and her mother who is on the look out to find Lata the best, most suitable boy for her to marry. If you know me, you already know this sounds like a Bollywood movie and I’m all for it. Also I’m a sucker for love stories.
I’m thinking about reading this book in increments and maybe doing little Reading Updates to let you guys know my thoughts on it as well as keep you up to date on the progress I’m making on this book, hopefully.
I hope you guys are having a wonderful day and I’ll see you in my next post!
