Hello lovely bookworms! Today’s post is going to be a Wrap-Up, summery and experience of my participation in the tome topple readathon. I really wanted to dedicate time to reading long books, and I’m really glad that I participated. Obviously, I couldn’t make it through all the challenges. I was only able to finish one book from the TBR, and 1 book that wasn’t exactly on my TBR, but that’s still a tome. So, I read a total of 2 books in this readathon. Obviously I wish I had read more, as with any challenge. However, I’ve just gotten back into reading consistently, and I’m really proud that I was able to finish 2 really long books.
By reading these two books I completed the read more than one tome challenge. I also completed the challenge of buddy reading a tome, and reading a tome that is part of a series. Not too bad for my first time participating in this readathon!
The first book I completed at 837 pages was Game of Thrones (Song of Ice and Fire #1) by George R.R. Martin. I loved this book! It took me quite a bit of time to get through, but I just appreciated all the character development and the plot so much that I couldn’t put it down! I think this is probably the longest book I have ever read in my life to be honest and it’s gotten me into this series. I now want to go and buy the next book in the series as soon as possible! The second book I completed was just over 500 pages and it’s the ever so famous Book Thief by Markus Zusak. This book was also so amazing and unique. Again, I really enjoyed the character development and the time period in which this book took place. I found the point of view from death was so enjoyable and different, as well as the simple writing style. It didn’t take me too long to get through this one. Again, full thoughts in this link! I hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know if you also participated in this readathon and what books and/or challenges you completed. Until next time, keep on reading!
